DESCRIPTION:Toast with the locals\, when the ever-popular\, Stellenbosch Street Soirees return to the streets of the City of Oaks for some laidback mingling with fellow food and wine lovers this summer. \nProudly presented by the Stellenbosch Wine Routes\, the first soiree of the season took place on 22 November 2023\, when Stellies shared its vibrant street culture\, enviable lifestyle\, and cosmopolitan charm in the heart of this historic town – all blended with cool tunes\, sizzling street food\, and superb wines. \n“Who does not like a good street party it is a great way to get to know your ‘neighbors’. With the Stellenbosch Wine Routes\, one is always in good company so why not come and unwind with us after work.\,” shares Elmarie Rabe\, Manager of the Stellenbosch Wine Routes.\nEach Stellenbosch Street Soiree features a different selection of cellars and street fare caterers and entry costs R190 per person which gets you a glass and 10 wine tasting tokens.

DESCRIPTION:Held every second Wednesday between November and March\, the pop-up Stellenbosch Soirees promise wine and food experiences that capture the very best of life in the region: great wine\, brilliant company\, food\, music\, and a laidback country vibe. \nProudly presented by Visit Stellenbosch in association with Stellenbosch Wine Routes\, each soiree celebrates a different selection of wine cellars\, with stalls\, food vendors and live music adding to the festivities. \nElmarie Rabe\, Manager for the Stellenbosch Wine Routes\, says: “Stellenbosch’s midweek Soirees are a highlight on our calendar. Drostdy Street is closed off to traffic\, creating a safe and vibrant space for people to enjoy our historic town.” \n“We have a wonderful mix of local wines and delicious food. Surrounding restaurants\, galleries and shops throw open their doors\, which makes for a magical atmosphere. It’s a great way to spend a balmy summer evening – and probably the best way for visitors to experience the spirit of the Winelands.” \nEntry to the event is free\, but R150 buys you a tasting glass and 12 wine tasting tokens\, which can be used to sample some of Stellenbosch’s finest vintages (additional tokens are on sale on the night).
