Together with our working flock of more than 1 200 Indian Runner Ducks on the farm, we are one of Africa’s proud pioneers of a very unique, integrated pest management program.
We greatly appreciate an R10 contribution per person upon arrival at Vergenoegd (excluding Saturdays). Your valued contribution may be redeemed against any purchase from the farm and goes towards our Integrated Pest Management and Duck Research Program, the results of which will be made available to other vineyards or farms around the world that may opt for natural pest and snail control by Runner Ducks.
We thank you in advance and trust you will enjoy your time on Vergenoegd and with our working flock today.
The Vergenoegd estate boasts a remarkable terroir and climate. Perfectly positioned between Table Mountain and the Hottentots-Holland mountain range to the east and west, the soil quality is highly diverse and produces a distinct classic wine that has enjoyed consistently good ratings.
It was JA Faure who first planted the first “new” cultivar named Cabernet Sauvignon, which consequently brought great success to Vergenoegd.
We offer some of the oldest Vintage Reds available to taste on the wine route.
Wine tasting open daily:
- Monday – Saturday: 09h00 – 17h00
- Sunday: 10h00 – 16h00
