Stark Condé Wines, founded in 1998 by a Cuban? American José Stark (Conde) is a boutique family-owned estate tucked high in the Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch, Western Cape.
The winery specializes in handcrafted, terroir-driven reds, particularly Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah (Three Pines’ flagship), and petite varietals, alongside an increasingly celebrated Chenin Blanc and white field blend.
With vineyards planted between 150–600 m altitude on decomposed granite and clay soils, the estate benefits from excellent drainage and cooling mountain breezes, yielding wines with concentration and structure.
