Signal Gun Wines is based at Hooggelegen Farm, family-owned by the de Wit family for over six generations, making it one of the oldest estates in the Durbanville Wine Valley.
The farm spans about 220 ha, with roughly 95 ha under vine, producing around 4,500-6,500 cases annually of signature wines like Sea Smoke Reserve Sauvignon Blanc, Gun Smoke Merlot, Rose, and more.
In 2010, owners M.J.?de?Wit and Estani expanded the farm into a family. friendly destination by establishing a restaurant, craft beer bar, and the tasting venue “Die Stal”.
A highlight is the firing of their 300-year-old signal cannon, still operational and fired every first Saturday of the month as a nod to Cape colonial heritage.
The estate also offers a unique Wine Safari: a scenic guided drive through vineyards and game camp terrain, with panoramic views stretching to Table Mountain, Robben Island, and beyond.
