Raka Wine Estate, established by Piet Dreyer in the Kleinrivier Mountains near Stanford, is a family-run winery known for its intimate, gravity-flow cellar and award-winning wines.
With vineyards first planted in 1999 and now spanning 68?ha, the estate cultivates a diverse array of varieties—including Shiraz, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Pinotage, and Sauvignon Blanc—benefiting from cool sea breezes and varied soils.
Josef Dreyer, winemaker since 2007, earned acclaim with the Raka Biography Shiraz (Michelangelo Trophy, 2008). The estate is also notable for helping establish the Klein River Wine Ward appellation.
