Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines is a distinguished partnership between winemakers Chris and Andrea Mullineux and entrepreneur Analjit Singh. The estate encompasses two acclaimed wineries: Mullineux in the Swartland and Leeu Passant in Franschhoek.
At the heart of the Swartland operation lies Roundstone Farm, situated on the southwestern slopes of Kasteelberg Mountain. This region is renowned for its ancient granite and schist soils, providing ideal conditions for cultivating Rhône varietals such as Syrah, Grenache Blanc, and Viognier, as well as old-vine Chenin Blanc and Cinsaut.
The estate employs a minimalist, natural approach to winemaking, utilizing indigenous yeasts and fermenting with minimal intervention. Wines are aged in French oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered, allowing the unique terroir to shine through.
Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines has garnered international acclaim, with the Swartland winery being named South African Winery of the Year an unprecedented five times by the Platter’s Guide.
