Winemaking lies in the blood of the Louw family and we have been involved in making wine in Durbanville over many decades.
Today the Maastricht wine farm has about 100 hectares of vineyards with Sauvignon Blanc, Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon plantings, as well as a small block of Pinot Noir, a grape which is difficult to grow in South Africa, but performs well in the cooler Durbanville climate.
The wine estate now also offer seasonal cheese platters and traditional Dutch bitterballen served in the tasting room.
