Lourensford Wine Estate is nestled in the lush Helderberg valley at the foot of the Hottentots Holland and Helderberg mountains near Somerset West. Founded in 1709 as part of the historic Vergelegen estate, it was revitalised under Dr?Christo Wiese from 1998, restoring its legacy as a prestigious fruit and wine farm.
Today, Lourensford combines over 130 hectares of vineyard with modern winemaking facilities, producing terroir-driven wines across several ranges: from approachable River Garden blends to premium Limited Release and Cap Classique, all showcasing the estate’s varied soils and coastal-influenced microclimates.
Visitors can enjoy tastings in a contemporary cellar set among century-old forests, fynbos, orchards, and sweeping mountain vistas, reinforcing its status as one of the world’s most beautiful wine estates.
