Founded in 2009 by Elizabeth “Libby” Petersen, Libby’s Pride Wines is a Black women–owned boutique winery based in Grassy Park, Cape Town. Starting from a modest 60-case launch, the brand has grown to produce around 4,000 cases annually.
With winemaker Hennie Huskisson, they craft a diverse portfolio, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, and several sweet and rosé blends, celebrated for their fruit-forward character, smooth texture, and vivid aromatics. Libby’s journey reflects empowerment and innovation, supported by national retailers like Pick ‘n Pay, Checkers, and Spar, and rising global recognition.
