Hogan Wines is a boutique, family?run winery based in the Banhoek Valley near Stellenbosch, founded by esteemed winemaker Jocelyn Hogan Wilson in 2014. Dedicated to expressing the unique character of each vintage, Jocelyn sources grapes from older?vine vineyards across the Western Cape—including Swartland, Helderberg, and Banghoek—favoring climate? and soil?specific sites and traditional, low?intervention methods.
Hogan produces a thoughtfully curated range of terroir?driven wines, including their signature Swartland Chenin Blanc, the ‘Galvanised’ Chardonnay, herbaceous Cabernet?Franc (‘Mirror for the Sun’), and the acclaimed red blend Divergent, inspired by Château Musar. The winemaker works with minimal new oak, native ferments, and no added yeast, aiming to craft elegant, expressive wines that tell a vintage’s real story.
Hogan has gained rapid recognition for quality and authenticity. Critics like Tim Atkin and Christian Eedes have awarded high scores (94–95?pts) to their Chenin Blanc and Divergent blend. This approach has earned them a place among South Africa’s forward?thinking natural?wine movement.
