The Harvest Celebration marks the launch of a new campaign bringing forward integration between Stellenbosch and its most renowned varietal. In the context of South African wine the two are synonymous: to love Stellenbosch is to love Cabernet\, and to love Cabernet is to love Stellenbosch. The Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective invites proponents of the varietal to join in the inaugural celebration. \nUnder the iconic 300 year Oak trees\, guests will enjoy an inspired harvest-themed lunch – prepared by Executive Chef\, Fabio Daniel\, from the renowned Rust en Vrede Restaurant and complimented by an exclusive selection of Cabernet Sauvignon magnum bottles from the 29 SCC members. Hosted by some of the most highly regarded Winemakers in the industry\, the day promises a bespoke food and wine experience in a relaxed atmosphere with the legends of Cabernet. \nEach of the 29 Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective member wineries has specially selected vintages from their collections to be poured throughout the afternoon\, all in magnum format. Most of these wines have been specially bottled for the occasion and member winemakers will be there to engage with the guests and informally converse about the wines on offer. \n“We wanted an opportunity to show like-minded Cabernet lovers what Stellenbosch has to offer\, in a way that really allows them the opportunity to show their best- whilst relaxing in an informal setting with delicious food and fantastic company!”\, says Christo le Riche\, Chairman of the Stellenbosch Cabernet Collective. “We have such a special terroir in Stellenbosch for crafting world-class Cabernets\, and many of our wines are achieving international acclaim. DESCRIPTION:Join us on every first Thursday of the month this season as we invite you for Sundowners with Kaapse Vonkel on our lawns.\nRelax and unwind under our trees in the beauty of the Cape Winelands with Cap Classique\, tapas and oysters\, and live music. \nThe entrance is free and the glasses will be on sale at R30 each. No BYO food or wine allowed\, but feel free to bring with your own picnic chairs\, glasses\, and blankets. Wine and food sales start at 17h30 and the wine bar closes at 20h30. \nSimonsig First Fizzday starts on 3 October 2019\, with the last one of the season taking place on 2 April 2020. This season the event is weather dependent so keep an eye on our social feeds for updates closer to the time. \nPlease note that in January 2020\, First Fizzday will take place on the 16th and not the 2nd.
