DESCRIPTION:FALKE KLAPMUTS CUP TRAIL RUN TRAVERSES SCENIC TRAIL NETWORKS\n\nThe Klapmuts Cup Trail Run presented by FALKE at Delvera on Sunday\, 15 October offers access to one of the oldest and most scenic trail networks in the Cape with spectacular views from Klapmutskop. \nWith four distances to choose from\, you have no excuse to miss out on a lovely spring morning run in the Winelands. Registration starts from 06h45 at the Dirtopia Trail Centre and Café.  Staggered race starts will see the 15km runners set off at 08h00\, 12.5km at 08h15\, 7.5km at 08h30 and the 5km at 08h45.  The long-distance runners will be competing for the coveted Klapmuts Cup trophy. \nPre-entries \nThis can be done online at www.dirtopia.co.za until Thursday\, 12 October at R90 for the 5km\, R110 for the 7.5km\, R125 for the 12.5km and R130 for the 15km\, while late entries on event day will cost an extra R50. \nMore about the Falke Klapmuts Cup Trail\nRunners will be able to enjoy traversing sections of stunning single and jeep tracks. DESCRIPTION:This five-course\, communal feast is hosted by braai masters Jaco and Eddie\, who will grill each prime cut of meat from the Chianina cattle to perfection. Expect traditional boerewors with a twist\, chargrilled biltong and a selection of our three favourite cuts of the night\, served with crisp garden salad greens\, our signature vinaigrette\, fresh pesto and other herbs. \nWe end each evening off with a lekker\, local treat – either iconic melktert\, rich Malva pudding\, sweet koeksisters\, creamy melkkos\, sago pudding or homemade pancakes – and a nightcap of our authentic dark\, rich balsamic vinegar hailing from Modena\, Italy. \nGuests are invited to gather at the wooden table to meet one another\, share good conversation\, and enjoy a delicious spread of Babylonstoren’s finest ingredients. \nChianina\, The Best Meat in The World\nThe best meat in the world derives from the Chianina cattle – its steaks are used for the famous Bistecca Fiorentina. Chianina is an ancient\, white-coated Italian breed that towers in comparison to other breeds. Our small herd of this cattle is our pride and joy – farm-reared on an entirely grass diet. \nOur butcher ages each prime cut of beef in a 2-3°C maturation room lined with Himalayan salt tiles. During maturation\, the salt slabs draw moisture from the air\, concentrating the rich\, savoury flavour of the meat. The collagen breaks down and tenderises and the colour turns a dark red. At our meat evenings\, these cuts of beef are grilled briefly over hot coals to seal in the flavour\, then over indirect heat to ensure perfect caramelisation of fat. We recommend you have yours juicy pink. \n\nMeat evenings take place at: 18h30 for 19h00\nCost: R490 per adult (including two glasses of Babel Red Blend) and R175 per child.\n\nDownload the full menu here.
