Founded in 1984 by renowned winemaker Neil Ellis, this family-run estate is located on the lower slopes of the Helshoogte Pass in Stellenbosch.
From its early days crafting wines in rented cellars, the estate pioneered sourcing premium fruit from region-specific vineyards like Jonkershoek, Groenekloof, Elgin, and Piekenierskloof, producing terroir-driven wines renowned for elegance and complexity.
Under the guidance of Neil and his son, winemaker Warren Ellis, the estate marries tradition with modern cellar techniques to create flagship wines such as Webb Ellis, regional Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Grenache, Syrah, and site-origin single-vineyard expressions.
