Radford Dale is a pioneering and ethical wine estate founded in 1998 by Ben Radford and Alex Dale. Rooted in Stellenbosch on the slopes of Helderberg Mountain, the estate is dedicated to producing terroir?driven wines through minimal intervention and sustainable farming practices across three key regions, Helderberg, Elgin, and Paardeberg.
From 2021, Radford Dale incorporated Elgin’s only certified organic and biodynamic estate, emphasizing climate-appropriate varieties like Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and South Africa’s rare Gamay Noir, managed entirely without synthetic chemicals.
The estate also values social upliftment through its Land of Hope Educational Trust, pledging revenue from its wines to support education for employees’ children.
With winemaking led by Jacques de Klerk since 2009, Radford Dale blends Burgundian inspiration and Cape innovation—championing Chenin Blanc, Gamay Noir, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache, and more across their Vinum, Thirst, Terroir Selection, and Organic Estate collections.
The wines exhibit purity, freshness, and elegance, with spontaneous fermentation, low sulphur use, and no new oak in most expressions.
