Rijk’s Wine Estate & Hotel is a luxury boutique estate in Tulbagh, set within striking vertical shale soils at the foot of the Winterhoek and Witzenberg mountains.
Founded in 1996 by Neville Dorrington, the vineyard focuses solely on cultivars suited to the challenging soils, namely Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, and Pinotage.
The winemaking philosophy blends traditional methods with biodynamic-inspired minimal intervention to yield clean, minerally, terroir-driven wines of global acclaim. Pearlescent Chenin and rich Shiraz benefit from Tulbagh’s cool nights and dry climate, while the hotel and private cellar enhance experiences with boutique tastings, cellar tours, and fine dining.
