Founded in 1864 by the Burger family, Rietvallei is one of South Africa’s oldest continually family-owned wine estates, now in its sixth generation under Kobus Burger.
Nestled along Route 62 in the Breede River Valley, the estate spans 250?ha (99?ha vineyards) with soils ranging from clay loam to alluvial.
It’s celebrated for its historic 1908 Muscadel vineyard, one of the oldest in the country, alongside a portfolio of white and red varietals—including award-winning Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin, and Cabernet blends.
The estate’s elegant tasting room features sparkling wine welcomes, cheese platters, local art displays, family-friendly amenities, and scenic vineyard views.
